Aerodrome Reporting & Works Safety Officers

This Nationally Accredited and ISO certfied course/s is designed to suitably train Aerodrome Reporting (ARO's) and Works Safety Officers (WSO's) to the Civil Aviation Safety Regulations 1988 (CASRs) part 139, Civil Aviation Regulations 1988 (CAR) and Manual of Standards (MOS) Part 139- Aerodromes.

 

Career Prospects

Completion of the Aerodrome Reporting and Work Safety Officers course encompassing Units of Competency leading to a Statement of Attainment (SOA) from the Certificate III in Aviation (Ground Operations) may lead to successful employment, but not limited to:

Course Duration for ARO's or WSO's

Full time course: Minimum of 40 hours per week over approximately 2 weeks.

(5 days face to face practical & theory training workshop)

Part time study: Minimum of 5-15 hours per week over approximatley 6 weeks.

 

The duration of your course is dependent upon the hours that you dedicate to your studies. This is a competency based course, however it is expected that on a full time face to face training workshop basis you can complete the ARO or WSO requirements in 1-2 weeks pending your selected units of study.

 

 

Refresher Training

Referesher training is also avaliable to both ARO's and WSO's after 2 years from your intial training course. This is designed to ensure officers maintain both operational and theoretical knowledge in the areas of Aerodrome regulation requirements, Procedual requirements, technical and operational changes.

Course Delivery

This course is delivered via face to face workshops, distance education using both online & paper resources and recogntion of prior learining (RPL).

Recognition of Prior Learning(RPL)

Officers employed as either a ARO or WSO with more than 24 months operational employment experience may be granted RPL upon assessment and demonstration of the requested units by Conwal & Associates.

 

Officers should request an RPL pack in which they will need to demonstrate currency and evidence in the units they are requesting RPL for.

 

 

Open unit of study

A total of 7 units are required to achieve either the Aerodrome Reporting Officers (ARO's) or Works Safety Officers (WSO's) statement of attainment.

 

The Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) has also highly recommended an additional 7 units also be considered for both ARO;sand WSO's.
